Oh I wasn't insinuating you pulled some strings! Just interested.

Happy to talk about it more in-depth if you want. justinpatrickbarbour@gmail.com

What does white anting mean?

What do white ants (termites) do?

How did you hear/know about the job?

It was advertised on the Victorian public service website. I agree that knowing somebody who is already in the organisation helps, but that didn’t apply to me. I knew very few people in Victoria, much less people who worked in the public sector.

Why do you support the Labor party? They have killed Australia.

Hey troll, lets play your game: kill yourself.

You don't have to talk about what you do, but how did you get the job? A website? Just applying to ads in the paper? Through a connection?

I applied for it, attended an interview, and received a job offer. It’s an entry-level role so not that difficult to get.

What do you do for work? Are you still studying as well?

I’m still studying law part-time, and I work in the public service.

Isn't it funny that those that complain the loudest about Rudd "white anting" Gillard, are also those that frequently degrade the only person in two decades that has lead them to a majority?

Loyalty is important, but so is preserving and building on our important reforms.

You were a lot more fun when you were a Young Liberal.

I was never a Young Liberal, or a member of the Liberal Party or Queensland LNP. I was a classical liberal, and as such I had no political home. As soon as I started to critically look at those views I started to drift away from them.

Lover when are juuuuu moving back to Queensland? There are people who want to get drunk on Dr Bombay with you and make fun of poor people. I imagine.

Dr Bombay is literally just what the doctor ordered. (Doctors should be able to prescribe gin).

So if Billy doesn't switch and you get stuck with Gillard, you're going to eat the shit sandwich and pretend that Gillard is the best person to unite behind, aren't you?

I will be voting for the Labor Party either way, to preserve the reforms we’ve pushed through and to build on them. I’ll also be campaigning as much as I can for the Party in the lead-up to the election because I think we have a great story to tell. My view on the leadership seems entirely immaterial to that.

Gillard must resign and announce she no longer believes she should continue in the job, for the benefit of the nation.

I have an enormous amount of respect for PM Gillard, and believe that she will be remembered by history as one of the greatest. But what I think doesn’t matter; I’m not a swing voter (like most people), and that is ultimately what we must consider.

I bet you can't wait for September so you can secretly vote for Adam

Well that seems unlikely.

Everyone keeps saying that Rudd probably won't win either, but everything that Abbott has relied on to survive will be gone, all of his tactics over the past few years out the window. Thoughts?

Some of his tactics will lose traction because much of his strategy has been personally directed at PM Gillard. I blame this solely for the lowering of political standards in this country. But I also have no doubt that the Coalition has a dirt filing cabinet full of material to use against PM Rudd.

FUCK RUDDMENTUM. That rat bag should not be rewarded with the leadership after what he did during the election. Fuck him.

I do not believe that it is sensible or prudent to go into an election knowing that we are going to lose everything we’ve achieved knowing that we have an alternative that we will not call upon because … um, “fuck him.”

Have you ever, ever felt like this? When strange things happen, are you going ruddmental?

Goin’ round the … uh, twist … of RUDDMENTUM.

Do you own speedo? What kind?

I don’t own any swimwear of any kind.

Israel and Palestine. Go.

Two-state solution seems to be the way forward. I’m not well read-enough or intelligent enough to comment on this policy area in a cogent way, so I’ll leave it at that.

What are you most proud of from the Gillard government?

Probably the national disability insurance scheme. It finishes another great Labor reform - Medicare - and having spoken to voters who it will directly affect, I am proud that the Gillard Government pushed this initiative through, funded it appropriately, and won bipartisan support. It is one of those things that will hopefully be above politics over the long-term.
